About Me

Jonathan Avinash Victor. I've been in the insurance and investment arena for since 2006. What began as a mere foray into finding better financial solutions for myself has led to an unexpected adventure that I foresee lasting a lifetime. Financial planning is now something I do for a living, a passion I hope to infuse into everybody I meet.

When I started my first business at the age of 23, my dream was that someday I would be financially free. Financial Planning wasn't a case of love at first sight as numbers were never really my cup of tea. However, as they say necessity is the mother of all invention. I had to come up with healthier ways of tackling personal finances because I was sinking deeper and deeper into financial despair.

I started investing in a small way in 2006. Seeing how this increased my net worth by leaps and bounds (which frankly wasn’t all that hard considering I stared from broke) got me pretty wide-eyed. I decided that being involved in the finance field would do me good. At this point in time I still didn’t have an inkling that in a short time financial planning would be my bread and butter. I went for various courses to enhance my knowledge and thus got my Associate Financial Planner designation. This was the beginning of what I believe will be an enduring journey of financial planning and consulting.

Last year, I choose to add insurance to my portfolio of services. I’d been avoiding getting into the insurance industry for some time because I imagined it a tough business of “convincing” and selling. However, it became increasingly apparent that drafting a financial plan for a client without the complete knowledge of insurance was like going to war buck-naked, without protection or amour. Now my number one passion is life insurance. No other financial instrument can substitute this magnificent tool as a protector of dreams. It has been of immeasurable value to me personally. It isn’t a matter of “convincing” a client to purchase life insurance; it is getting people to understand the value of life with all its hopes and dreams.

What is your life worth? Your car might be worth RM100,000 and recognising this value you insure it for that sum. But still there are many who value their life for as little or less than that. A car is just the golden egg. Isn’t the goose worth much more?
